Utah Wedding Photographer | Salt Lake Engagements

As a Utah wedding photographer, I always encourage my couples to have engagement photos taken. It allows me to get to know you, and helps you get comfortable with the photo process.

How beautiful is this couple? I am lucky to have McKenna as a sister in law. I always feel so honored when family members trust me to capture their important moments. Her and Stephen met at a social gathering up at Utah State University. They immediately hit it off and I am so happy for them! I was so excited when McKenna said that they wanted their engagement photos taken in Downtown Salt Lake.

This engagement session is probably one of my favorites. I love when couples choose locations that are non-traditional yet classy. McKenna + Stephen made my job so easy. The love that they have for each other is so evident in these gorgeous shots. We started their session at the Utah State Capitol before heading down the road to a parking garage with beautiful rooftop views.

I love taking Utah engagement photos downtown. The Capitol building is such a versatile location. Just next door is Memory Grove Park that has the most beautiful greens. There’s a switchback path down to the park that has a pond and bridge. It’s a short walk to the Capitol for some bright, neutral light. Ending the night with some rooftop shots ensures the best sunset views.

Engagement outfits

McKenna + Stephen did an amazing job on their outfits. They chose one casual and one that was a little dressier. The colors they chose were perfect. I love when couples bring more than one outfit to their engagement sessions. This add versatility to their photos and elevates the whole gallery.
