Emma + Payton got married on 8/8/22. I was so excited when they asked me to photograph their wedding portraits the day of their sealing on their first anniversary! They were sealed at the Bountiful Utah Temple. It was a beautiful, sunny day. This can often create some lighting challenges, however. The higher the sun gets in the sky, the more difficult it is to find soft shade. I got to the temple early so that I could scout out the best spot for family photos. I chose to forego the stairs and have them follow me to the back side of the temple where there was a bit of shade. We took family photos and a few more portraits of Emma and Payton.
This was actually my first time photographing wedding photos at the Bountiful Utah Temple. It’s one of my favorite temples and I have been hoping for a while to be able to shoot there. It has gorgeous arches, gold doors, and breathtaking views of the valley below. I actually have two more weddings booked there this month!
One of the things I pride myself on is my expertise in photographing temple weddings. They can be tricky for a few reasons: harsh light, tight timeline, and crowds. Most sealings take place between 10 am and 2 pm which is when the sun is brightest. I have never photographed a sealing where I wasn’t able to find some shade and beautiful light. I work very efficiently when it comes to family photos. If you are getting married at the Bountiful Utah Temple (or any other temple) and need photos, you can reach out to me here.
