Ashley was referred to me by my friend Jess after she got word that Ashley and Justin were going to take their own engagements/wedding photos on their phone. They both had a lot going on and didn’t think they’d be able to book photos in time for the wedding. It worked out perfectly that Ashley called me on a Friday and we scheduled a sunrise shoot for Saturday morning. We decided on Antelope Island and I’m so glad we did.
I’ve never done a morning session at Antelope Island and wasn’t sure what to expect. Typically, a golden hour session at this location means a gorgeous, unobstructed sunset. I was a little bummed we weren’t going to get that in the morning. However, I was not prepared for how beautiful the light was going to be. The sunrise in the east created the most beautiful, cotton candy skies for our backdrop in the west. I will never get sick of the gorgeous rocky terrain that is so different than anything else you can find in Utah.
One of my favorite parts of shooting at Antelope Island is that I get a few minutes on the drive over the causeway to chat and get to know my clients. Ashley and Justin are the sweetest couple and I loved getting to hear their story. At the time of this shoot, they were a little over a week out from their wedding in Arizona! Since these photos will serve as engagements and formals, they dressed up and looked AMAZING. The warm, neutral backdrop of Antelope Island was the perfect compliment for their classy aesthetic.
If you’re getting married and think that wedding photos are out of the question, please reach out! I hate the idea of any couple missing out on capturing such a special time. Schedule your wedding photos here!
